Preparation of kefir with fruit juice
Fun to water kefir, (usually is made with sugar water) variation is to use fruit juice. Fruit juice kefir is delicious containing probiotic benefits of kefir.
Fruit juice kefir can make water kefir grains, milk kefir grains or powder kefir starter culture. We recommend that you use water kefir grains for two reasons. Water kefir grains are accustomed to use with water, sugar, which is more similar to juice than milk. Kefir grains of milk can be converted to be used with fruit juice, but keep in mind that once they are converted, you cannot return them to the milk-based media. Water kefir grains, however, can go back and forth between the sugar water and juice given some time and correction (see below). Kefir grains are also able to make the folder after folder, where the powder kefir starter culture has a limited life expectancy.
To make fruit juice kephir, add water kefir grains of fruit juice (100% juice or diluted juice). We recommend that you use organic juice whenever possible to avoid the chemicals present in the commercial juice, which may damage the kefir grains. Allow fruit juice kefir to ferment for 24-72 hours. Keep in mind that the longer the juice ferments, higher alcohol content. We recommend that if you create a fruit juice for fermentation kefir children, must be limited to a period of 24-48 hours. If you are looking for more "adult" drink, a longer period of fermentation is desirable. After completing the period of fermentation, kefir grains and to place them in fresh water in the juice and sugar.
Several objections: first, the juice may be very difficult for water kefir grains. Although they may be used repeatedly in environment of juice, they must be returned to the plain sugar water sometimes to revitalize them. Note that kefir grains, which are cultivated in fruit juice and then returns it to the sugar water made many unpleasant tasting sugar water kefir for a certain period of time so that you do not plan on changing lots of fruit juices and sugar water, while still tasty sugar water kefir to drink. It is also likely that will multiply the kefir grains of water used with fruit juice and fruit juice kefir grains will likely be significantly shorter lifespan of kefir grains, raised in water, sugar.
We recommend that the opportunity to maintain two separate sets of water kefir grains: one for sugar water and one for the juice (each set can be stored in water, sugar in the refrigerator in use). You can run this through the purchase of two sets of kefir grains or by waiting until your set of kefir grains multiply to the point, you can use 3 t. kefir grains of sugar water and 3 t. kefir grains of fruit juice. This allows you to make fruit juice and sugar kefir water kefir without interruption.

Traditional buttermilk or cultured buttermilk
Did you know that there are two types of buttermilk?
The liquid left over from making butter is known as the traditional buttermilk. Traditional buttermilk is very low in fat (because most of the fat goes to make the butter). It can be consumed as a drink (with fresh ground pepper) or added to recipes of water for food productivity.
Cultured buttermilk is typically what is required for in recipes. It is also the type of buttermilk, find in the store or you can create your own using Starter cultured buttermilk. Cultured buttermilk is very similar toyogurt in the sense that is cultivated, with the help of live bacteria. Cultured buttermilk can be consumed as thick cream and drink or used in cooking (pancakes anyone?).
